Double Sleeping Bags
Double sleeping bags can be made by zipping some models of
single bags together, or by buying a full 2-person sleeping
bag. There are pros and cons for each way of doing things.
If you have two bags that zip together, you usually
have to have one bag with a zipper on the left and another with
a zipper on the right. The convenience is that each person
can pack their own bag, even in a backpack or a rucksack.
With a full-sized two-person sleeping bag, the bag is twice
as bulky as a single bag, and therefore they are normally
unsuitable for backpacking. However, they are fine if all
your camping gear will be carried to your campsite in a car or
truck. And these double bags are also great for sleeping two
together in a caravan or trailer.
Not only does a double sleeping bag trap your own body
heat efficiently, it gives you well-insulated thermal
chamber to trap the combined warmth of two bodies. So you can
sleep snug and warm the whole night through.
